With over thirty regional, national and international awards for his work in film and television, Steve's a guy who hasn't met a media he couldn't conquer. Growing up on Long Island, New York, Steve was bombarded with nonstop New York radio and television along with blind obedience to Beatlemania. By the mid 1970's, he was part of the Punk Rock scene at CBGB's and Max's Kansas City. Although his band received limited success, it became a turning point with Steve, giving him the opportunity to direct and produce his first music video in 1977 - four years before the birth of MTV. 1975 to 1978 Steve would rub elbows with starving acts such as the Ramones, Blondie, Patti Smith, Talking Heads and others who would later wind up in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Aiming to expand his horizons (and get a steady job), by pure happenstance Steve wound up in Raleigh, North Carolina as a Production Crewmember at WRAL-TV near the end of 1978. By 1980 he had befriended those in the Raleigh music scene and by 1981 he was Producing, Directing, Shooting and Writing his first music video - with a grand budget of $100. From there, the videos rolled in, sort of. The early videos had some small budgets, which meant that Steve was funding the shoots himself. But there were some major label videos for A&M Records and a national Top 40 hit for Atlantic Records, so Steve was at least on the break-even.

By 1984 the Raleigh scene had evolved. The bands that Steve worked with in these early years were breaking up, with key players moving on to the national stage. Steve felt the same calling and so it was time to move on.

The mid 1980's brought him to Nashville where, working at TNN, he also independently established himself as a Country music video producer / director, creating years of major label chart topping hit music videos for BMG / RCA, Warner Bros., Capitol, MCA, Sony / CBS and other national and international labels. While topping the music video charts, Steve also worked non-music video projects with Group W, A&E, The Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel and The Travel Channel, among others.

By the mid 1990's, Steve created and managed a global music video television network for Hard Rock Cafe, distributed exclusively to HRC's around the world. Following three years as General Manager & Executive Producer of HRCTV, Steve continued research and development of delivering global interactive television through IP Multicast Broadband Internet. As an executive / partner with two Broadband start-ups - which included a partnership with BellSouth and WorldCom as well as a DSL workshop and technology showcase at the 1999 NAB Convention in Las Vegas. Steve has also co-written a series of neo-noir detective novels, which he produced as a series pilot for national public radio starring a cross section of Rock, Country and Television personalities.

Recently Steve completed a two-year stint producing live television for Scripps Networks' Shop At Home which included promotion productions for the Food Network, HGTV, Fine Living, DIY and Great American Country. And has worked a number of projects for MTV Networks, including producing / directing The Beach Boys for VH1 Classic as well as producing productions for Classic Rockers such as Mike Love (solo), Grand Funk, Mark Farner (solo), Felix Cavaliere's Rascals, Herman's Hermits starring Peter Noone, Jesse Winchester and others. Steve was also on the team for The Weather Channel five-hour documentary 100 Biggest Weather Moments hosted by Harry Connick, Jr.

Steve has recently won GOLD at the Chicago International Film Festival / Intercom and PLATINUM at the Houston International Film Festival / WorldFest. His work has gathered a wide variety of awards, including an entry in the Cannes Film Festival, 13 International Film Festival awards (1 Platinum, 6 Gold, 3 Silver, 3 Bronze), 4 Emmy's and 6 Addy's - including Best of Show.
